Individual Therapy and Coaching for New Mothers at PRACTICE: Support in Finding Your Rhythm.
New motherhood is life-changing. Whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, pregnancy, childbirth and new motherhood can be exhausting and overwhelming. It is completely normal for it to be tough to find your groove!
Our team of clinicians offers short-term, evidence-based individual therapy and coaching for mamas (in addition to our twice-weekly drop-in support groups!). Little ones are always welcome in our baby-centric spaces: we’ve got a scale, nursing pillows, bouncers, changing pads, as well as snacks and comfy seats for mom!
Therapy and coaching is tailored to client needs and selected areas of focus, including anxiety, low mood, relationships, adjustment, return to work and other issues common in the postpartum period. We offer flexible scheduling, timing, frequency and duration of appointments, and we try to work with clients to make a plan that is effective, accessible and affordable. We also can offer referrals and connect you to specialized clinicians or other types of providers and supports/services that are geographically convenient for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I expect that I will attend sessions?
We know that it can be tough to get out the door with a new baby in tow. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to access support. For that reason, session frequency and length are flexible (although we do think that weekly sessions can be helpful, particularly as we get to know one another!). In some situations (depending on your location), our therapists even do home visits if you’re not able to make it in to us!
Can my baby come with me?
YES! We love babies. And our baby-centric space has everything you need (scale, changing pad, nursing pillows, bouncers, etc!).
How much does it cost? Fees generally are consistent with standard therapy rates in the Bay Area, but are periodically adjusted and vary by provider; please contact us directly for specific information. We have limited need-based sliding scale spots available. We ask clients to supply credit card billing information via our secure online system, and sessions are charged to your card on file. Should you have PPO health insurance, a health savings account (HSA), or a medical flexible spending account (FSA), we are happy to provide documentation for you to submit for reimbursement.
