Join Our Team
Practice San Francisco is a well-established and growing family-focused therapy and wellness center based in San Francisco’s Cow Hollow neighborhood and Marin. We are currently in search of licensed therapists to join our clinical team!
We are accepting applications from master’s or doctoral-level clinicians who are already licensed or license-eligible in California. We are also welcoming applications from pre-licensed candidates with doctoral-level degrees.
We Are Growing Our Clinical Team
We are looking for therapists interested in a long-term role with our dynamic and connected treatment team, offering evidence-based behavioral, cognitive-behavioral, ACT and mindfulness-based interventions to children, teens and parents. We see individual therapy as being one part of a larger, holistic picture of wellness; consequently, our therapeutic services are embedded in a larger matrix of workshops, classes and events that offer a variety of opportunities for families to build community and access/practice skills related to emotional well-being.
Child and Adolescent Therapists
- Conducting individual cognitive-behavioral therapy with preschool and elementary-aged children with anxiety, mood or emotion-regulation disorders
- Providing ongoing parent education/support
- Liaising with schools when needed
Our staff therapists also run small group Mighty Minds psychoeducational classes teaching core CBT and mindfulness skills to children in grades K to 8. Some prior training and experience with evidence-based interventions in child/adolescent populations is mandatory, with preference given to candidates with interest/preference in working with children in preschool and/or elementary school and their families. Opportunity to take-on supervisory responsibilities for interested/experienced candidates. Some evening/weekend availability is required.
Perinatal/Maternal Mental Health Therapists
- Conducting individual cognitive-behavioral therapy, and/or acceptance and commitment therapy with mothers of children of various ages, and particularly with pregnant and new mothers.
Clinicians on our perinatal team also facilitate weekly support groups. Previous training and experience in treating depression, anxiety and adjustment issues with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and/or acceptance/commitment therapy (ACT) is mandatory. Postpartum-specific experience and training is a plus. Opportunity to take on administrative or supervisory responsibilities for interested and experienced candidates.
- Conducting family therapy with clients enrolled in individual therapy and their families in order to target larger family systems issues, and/or providing couples’ therapy and/or co-parenting support for families in which parental relationships or disagreements are impacting child/adolescent functioning. Some evening/weekend availability is required.
About the Positions & How to Apply
Each position involves a minimum of 12 client hours per week, with a strong preference for candidates looking to build toward a full-time load and in search of a long-term connection with a team. Candidates operating or employed in another private practice are not eligible.
Compensation is competitive and based on experience level and desired caseload. Our team offers weekly clinical consultation for all providers, regular mentorship/supervision for therapists new to working in this setting or with these populations, and paid professional development/continuing education. Additional benefits (e.g., health insurance, retirement) are in progress and will be accessible in 2021.
We currently are operating fully by telehealth. Post-pandemic we would expect all hires to see clients in-person either out of our Cow Hollow or Marin locations (we will be operating in San Francisco, Novato and also opening a new location in Southern Marin).
These positions are ideal for clinicians who prefer to avoid the headache of starting their own practice and are interested in becoming part of a thriving and collegial group practice specializing in delivering evidence-based treatments for children, teens and parents both as intervention and prevention. Our ideal candidates are excited to join a collaborative team of colleagues, enthusiastic about the prospect of additional supervision/consultation as a means of expanding their skillset, receptive to feedback and passionate about building and supporting child/family mental health from the ground-up!
Interested applicants can send a cover letter, CV and three professional references to Nina Kaiser at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our team is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and warmly welcomes applications from candidates of all ages, ethnicities, cultural backgrounds and sexual/gender orientations.
