Julia Barzizza

Instructor: Restorative Yoga & Vinyasa Flow

Julia began assisting Mighty Minds in April 2019.

Julia grew to love yoga for its effect on strengthening the body and stilling the mind. After 6 years of dedicated practice, Julia went on to complete her first 200-hour training with Yoga Flow SF.

She pursued her certification in Restorative Yoga, and trained in Prenatal Yoga with Julia Forest and Stefanie Antunes of Awakened Spirit Yoga. Her combined prenatal yoga and birth doula education fanned her passion to support womxn of all ages and stages. She plans to further her birth support studies in Guatemala, under the 5,000+ year tradition of indigenous midwifery.

Julia holds a bachelor’s degree from California College of the Arts. She is a trained painter and illustrator, as well as Arts Education Director and muralist at Precita Eyes Muralists Association. Julia is trained in Mindfulness Fundamentals through Nicole Cardoza’s Yoga Foster program, where she formalized her understanding of evidence-based mindfulness strategies for kids.

In her free time, she can be found camping with her partner, or curled up with a book and a good cup of coffee.
