Senior Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Alana (she/her/hers) is a Senior Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#117908). Before joining Practice San Francisco, Alana worked in community mental health, serving children and families impacted by early childhood trauma. Working through a trauma-informed lens and with a strengths-based perspective, Alana is particularly adept at meeting clients and their caregivers where they are in their therapeutic journeys. Alana is committed to helping her clients feel empowered and confident. Alana prides herself on bringing creativity, empathy, and radical acceptance to each session.
Alana is trained in various evidence-based interventions, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Additionally, Alana has been trained in Wisdom Pathways, a reparative parent coaching model, and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), a parent based treatment for children and teens.
Alana knows firsthand how overwhelming and daunting the transition to new parenthood can be. She has trained with Postpartum Support International's Maternal Mental Health and is in the process of receiving her Perinatal Mental Health certification. She now offers perinatal support to all birthing people and their partners from preconception through postpartum.
Alana lives in Los Angeles and is accepting clients virtually. In her spare time, Alana can be found gardening and attempting to try new restaurants with two kids in tow.
